From one of our many snow-melting locations, the men and women of USA Local 831 are out here doing what we do best—moving massive amounts of frozen snow and continuing to clean NYC’s streets during this ice-cold winter.
With temperatures keeping snow from melting on its own, our crews are stepping up—working long hours, operating heavy equipment, and clearing streets so the city keeps moving. We’re proud to be the workforce behind @nycsanitation , executing the plan and getting the job done safely and efficiently.

Last Friday, USA Local 831 stood alongside New York City’s Mayor and the Acting Commissioner of the Department of Sanitation New York City for a press conference addressing the upcoming storm.
That storm hit Sunday into Monday, dumping over a foot of snow across the city. While the press conference has passed, the work has not — our members are still out there piling and hauling, clearing streets and keeping New York City moving.
This is what we do. Prepare ahead. Respond in force. Finish the job.
